You are invited to an important Washington summit
on the world's most important reconstruction initiative
- The Iraqi Reconstruction Conference.
With costs ranging up to $60 billion during the next
five years, the relief, reconstruction, and development
of Iraq is expected to be the largest endeavor since
World War II reconstruction. Relief is underway and
several major reconstruction projects have already
been awarded. And, according to USAID Administrator
Andrew S. Natsios, half of the reconstruction money
will go to subcontractors, with both U.S. and foreign
firms eligible for subcontracts.
The involvement of companies, development organizations,
relief groups, and others is critical to the success
of Iraqi reconstruction and therefore will play a
vital role in facilitating the stability and security
of the region. Products, services, systems, and applications
are needed in the following categories: food, water,
medicine, emergency shelter, hospital equipment, security,
oil and gas supplies, environmental clean-up, oil
well repairs, oil refinery improvements, water pipe
construction, road construction, railroad development,
airport and seaport construction, school construction,
telecommunications, financial systems, and much more.
The Iraqi Reconstruction Conference will provide
the latest information on reconstruction and funding.
Conference general sessions and break-out sessions
will feature top government officials, corporate executives,
and diplomats, speaking on:
Humanitarian aid and emergency
assistance
Funding for Iraqi reconstruction
International perspectives on
Iraq's reconstruction
Reconstruction priorities and
programs; heavy infrastructure, communications,
medicine, security, education, oil and gas, etc.
Contracting and subcontracting
opportunities with government agencies and major
contractors
Special session on contracting
opportunities for small and minority-owned businesses
In addition to benefiting from this valuable first-hand
information, conference participants will receive:
