| You are invited to attend The Mass Transit Security Briefing, scheduled for Monday, April 26, 2004 at the National Press Club in Washington, DC.
In the aftermath of the bombings in Spain, warnings that terrorists may be planning to attack rail and other mass transit systems in the U.S. have placed many state and local authorities on a virtual war footing, with extensive and costly security preparations under way around the country. Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge told The 2004 Homeland & Global Security Summit on March 31 that the U.S. needs to be on heightened alert.
The Mass Transit Security Briefing will provide you with the latest information on:
- The threat of terrorism to mass transit in the U.S.
- Federal programs and grants to secure mass transit
- Proposed new funding for mass transit security
- Details of heightened mass transit security in major U.S. cities
- How the business community can provide mass transit security solutions
