| As the President prepares to sign Project BioShield (S. 15), we take the first steps towards creating a new industry in America - the BioDefense Industry. This industry will engage the scientific and entrepreneurial talents of America's preeminent life sciences and research and development infrastructure to develop medical countermeasures - including diagnostics, therapeutics, and vaccines - to protect us in the event of a BioTerror, chemical, or radiological attack. This Briefing will explore important issues about this new industry and features leading experts. |
