AMMAN, JORDAN - Equity International President William Loiry joined world leaders today for the World Economic Forum's Extraordinary Annual Meeting in Jordan. Loiry was invited to participate by the Jordanian Government.
The Meeting brings together more than a thousand business, political and other leaders from around the world to discuss urgent issues on the global agenda, and to seek ways of replacing the recent period of confrontation with a spirit of cooperation. Among the topics they will explore is a recent US initiative to create a North America-Middle East free trade zone within a decade. The reconstruction of Iraq is another main subject of the Meeting. President George W. Bush has asked US Secretary of State Colin Powell and Trade Representative Robert B. Zoellick to take part in the Meeting.
Loiry is hosting The Iraqi Reconstruction Conference in Washington on July 1 and 2.
